ABOUT ME
Building Sustainable Startups in Africa
I’m Gladys Dalung — an entrepreneur, agribusiness coach, and food innovator whose journey began in 1999, fueled by creativity, resilience, and an unshakable belief that small beginnings can spark global impact.
My first step into entrepreneurship came through music. After secondary school, I worked as a backup singer and recorded jingles and adverts at a studio on Rwang Pam Street in Jos. With the proceeds, I self-sponsored a music concert in 2000 that generated ₦96,000. From just ₦5,000 of that profit, I registered my first business, Wsquare Records. That moment lit the fire in me — the realization that vision plus action equals transformation.
In 2007, my passion for food innovation led me to start J-Organics, a spice-processing business inspired by the desire to create MSG-free seasonings using native blends. That seed grew into Afrieden Foods, officially founded in 2020 and unveiled to the market in 2022.
Over the years, I have deliberately invested in knowledge to sharpen my entrepreneurial journey — from earning diplomas in psychology, software engineering, fashion design, and food processing & post-harvest management to advanced training in web design, SEO, UI/UX design, and Data analytics. I also hold a Nestlé Africa Academy Food Technology certification and a BSc in Entrepreneurship. These experiences, combined with mentorship and learning from institutions like NEPC, TEF, Google, AFDB, Nexim Bank, NIRSAL, and ImpactHER, and more, have given me both the mindset and practical skills to build businesses that thrive in complex environments.
Alongside food, I founded GirmaTech Business Solutions (a tech and digital agency, 2021), reflecting my love for innovation across industries.
My Passion
I am passionate about turning challenges into opportunities — whether through food innovation, digital transformation, or entrepreneurship.
Food is personal to me. Growing up with farming parents, I saw the pain of wasted harvests while communities went hungry. That reality pushed me toward food processing and packaging as a way to fight waste, preserve value, and create opportunities for farmers.
Technology excites me because it allows even the smallest business to compete globally. Coaching fulfills me because I know what it’s like to build without guidance — and I don’t want others to walk that road alone.
My Mission
My mission is simple: to empower entrepreneurs, farmers, and food processors to grow smart, process better, and profit more.
I help bridge the gap between passion and profit by combining real-world experience, formal knowledge, and practical strategies tailored to Africa’s unique business landscape.

Agribusiness & Private Labelling – supporting farmers and processors to create market-ready products, adopt best practices, and launch their own brands.

Helping businesses build their online presence, automate, and expand through technology.
